shame, first they sacrificed the sad ost's and oldschool animations, Ran became the less ass kicking filler Ran, then they sacrificed Akira Kamiya's voice, how tragic it has been become to watch this lose its soul

LesK • 1 year ago

it's all about the money man, Kamiya wanted more money, Yomuri TV staffer leaked his contract details to the public, Kami gets pissed and argues with the money bosses, then he gets fired.

it sucks, Yomuri TV should have just given him a better contract, found the guy who leaked confidential information online and canned THAT ass.

I would disagree sometimes I think it was fine especially compared to naruto shippuden that was just hard to watch

strange guy • 1 year ago

To be fair ran was kinda a damsel in distress in the beginning

strange guy • 1 year ago

To be fair detective Conan is still an ongoing show and kogoro the original voice actor is pretty old

Schwatzr • 2 years ago

i miss kogorou's old voice

hereforfun • 2 years ago

Its a shame man, I miss it too ,it takes a lot of time to get used to this one

strange guy • 1 year ago

It’s fine

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I know

MeganeMogwai • 1 year ago

I thought Kogorou's voice sounded different, this will take some getting used to a new actor. They're noth completely different. There no gravel in this mans voice.

Dio Joestar • 7 months ago

yep, that deep husky voice has been smoothened out in this one

Yusaika • 2 years ago

So this is the episode where Mouri Kogorou changes voice actors...
I already miss the the old voice but oh well gotta get used to it

strange guy • 1 year ago

myanimelist dot net / news / 5541610

i didn't notice a change at all. Mr. Koyama did a great job with his first episode of Conan. read that article if you want to know why Mr. Kamiya was fired/quit as Kogoro.

interesting that the news came out on Sep17 two days before ep547 was broadcast. in the previous episodes 546-48 Kogoro had important roles/lines. Sept 12-26... but 549-52 i don't remember Kogoro being in them at all. Oct 3-24... so... if the news came out Sep17 and Oct31 is when 553 came out with Mr. Koyama taking over as Kogoro.

that's a fast changeover. SIX WEEKS AND TWO DAYS!? wow. somebody seriously must have been pissed off at that contract and payment/salary dispute between Mr. Kamiya and Yomiuri TV(Conan's producer). they canned his ass and replaced him in six weeks? whew.

does voice acting pay good?

LesK • 1 year ago

nope, not really. they're quite underpaid compared to 'live action actors'.

ram🌺 • 1 year ago

why one piece voice actors are doing it for decades?

LesK • 1 year ago

consistency in the fandom. look at how many 'remakes' of classic TV shows from the 1980's and 90's flopped.

here's an example from English dubs in anime today. Naofumi, the Male Lead of 'Shield Hero' has a new English VA for season2. the previous actor had to quit working entirely because he has Stage 4 colon cancer. out of curiosity I watched Episode 1 of Season 2 of 'Shield Hero' in English just because i'm unfamiliar with the new guy's previous work. he did an ok job, i'll still buy the DVD/BR from Funimation when S2 comes out. but i'm not your average anime fan, some will NOT buy those English disks without the original S1 cast.

the Japanese fans are not unlike us 'Western fans', some will actually entirely quit watching a show in Japan if their favorite character gets a new voice actor. some people are just picky like that. :) i don't blame them for this, in Japan or elsewhere with various other language dubs of shows. if they don't like the change, they should not buy it if they don't want to.

also, a lot of voice actors in Japan need to work a lot of jobs to survive. they'll make personal appearances at events and such for extra cash, charge a small fee for autographs and other forms of income. but, if an actor/actress doesn't work, they don't get paid, and they don't eat or pay rent etc. plus, alot of the talents in anime get truly attached to the roles they're playing and their fellow cast members. especially the folks on long-running shows like Naruto/Boruto, One Piece and such. those people become just like family members and old friends.

I mean one piece actors aren’t that old honestly and the characters themselves get old so I don’t think there gonna be replaced unless they die accidentally

ram🌺 • 1 year ago

they probably have a good environment work at Toei one piece that they last for decades

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah

Wiz Kidd • 2 years ago

I can still hear Akira Kamiya's voice! 😅 I don't think I'll "miss" the ugly laugh, but I respect it.
Rikiya Koyama's, now, is familiar (Captain Yamato, Kyros, Ging Freecs), but that notwithstanding, we've got some adjusting to do.

Yeah
